MASTECTOMIA PROFILÁTICA NA PREVENÇÃO DO CÂNCER DE MAMA EM MULHERES COM MUTAÇÃO NO GENE BRCA1: REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA

Resumo

O câncer de mama é uma doença multifatorial causada por fatores genéticos e ambientais sendo mutações no gene BRCA1, localizado no braço longo do cromossomo 17 a maior causa câncer de mama hereditário. Diversos métodos de prevenção a esta neoplasia maligna têm sido estudados, dentre eles a mastectomia profilática. O objetivo da pesquisa foi analisar as evidências científicas acerca do uso da mastectomia profilática para prevenção do câncer de mama em pacientes diagnosticadas com mutação no gene BRCA1. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa de literatura, quantitativa e exploratória nas bases de dados on-line por meio da estratégia PICo. A análise dos dados foi realizada através de leitura e análise sistemática do conteúdo dos artigos por meio da qual selecionou-se 8 artigos de periódicos distintos, escritos em língua inglesa e coerentes com os objetivos do estudo e critérios de inclusão. Diante das temáticas dos estudos foi possível dividi-los em duas categorias: concordância acerca da eficácia da mastectomia profilática como um método eficiente para prevenção do câncer de mama em mulheres portadoras de mutação no gene BRCA1; discordância acerca da eficácia da mastectomia profilática para prevenção do câncer de mama em mulheres portadoras de mutação no gene BRCA1. Pode-se concluir que, apesar da mastectomia profilática ter ampliado sua aceitação por profissionais de saúde e mulheres com risco de desenvolver câncer de mama, ainda são escassos os estudos que comprovam que a eficácia deste método supera os demais existentes e menos invasivos, compensando os riscos e resultados pós-cirúrgicos.
