In vitro fertilization (IVF) is a method of assisted human reproduction that enables men and women with fertility problems to achieve pregnancy. In women with endometriosis, where infertility is a common complaint, IVF is one of the alternatives for those who wish to conceive. Objectives: To analyze the benefits and drawbacks of medical interventions prior to in vitro fertilization in women with endometriosis. Methodology: After utilizing artificial intelligence to define the topic, the research was conducted using the following descriptors: “Endometriosis,” “in vitro fertilization,” and “Infertility,” connected by the Boolean operator AND, on the data platforms PubMed, SciELO, and Lilacs, limiting the articles to the years 2019 to 2023. After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, 7 articles were analyzed. Results and Discussion: The analysis of the studies included satisfactory results for the use of associated medications and prior surgical intervention. Isolated medications require further research. Conclusion: The combined use of surgical and pharmacological intervention proved to be superior to the direct procedure of fertilization. The isolated use of progesterone requires further scientific investment to analyze the results; the administration of GnRH-a or G-CSF did not result in satisfactory outcomes.
