IMPACTO DE LOS TRATAMIENTOS CON ALINEADORES EN ORTODONCIA: UNA REVISION NARRATIVA

Los alineadores en ortodoncia han pasado por grandes cambios a través del tiempo, siendo en un inicio realizados de forma analógica, con modelos de yeso, hasta lo que es hoy en día con el uso de herramientas digitales 3D en softwares. El objetivo de esta revisión narrativa de literatura es de describir y discutir la evidencia científica disponible sobre la terapia de alineadores en Ortodoncia en los últimos años, analizando su planificación y diagnóstico, software, movimientos dentarios, limitaciones y nuevas tendencias de trabajo. Para esta investigación se usaron base de datos de PubMed y Scielo con artículos con una antigüedad no mayor a 8 años en español, inglés o portugués y publicados en revistas indexadas. Los resultados obtenidos son que los tratamientos realizados con alineadores in-house o los elaborados por empresas han demostrado tener eficacia en los movimientos dentarios, generando una alta predicción en obtención de resultados favorables con este método de terapia ortodóncica. Al mismo tiempo el diagnóstico y planificación de estos casos presenta beneficios para los ortodoncistas, sin embargo, es necesario las capacitaciones de los profesionales para el uso de softwares odontológicos y son necesarios más estudios relacionados a los alineadores impresos directamente ya que las evidencias son insuficientes para recomendaciones clínicas. Se logra evidenciar que existen beneficios de realizar los tratamientos con alineadores en ortodoncia en la planificación, diagnostico y eficacia de movimiento logrando un impacto de los tratamientos en ortodoncia.
