HODGKIN'S LYMPHOMA WITH THERAPEUTIC COMPLICATIONS: A CLINICAL CASE REPORT

Hodgkin's Lymphoma is a hematological malignancy that affects lymph nodes and can involve B, T and NK lymphocytes, representing an enormous diagnostic challenge. This study presents a clinical case of a 29-year-old patient with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, highlighting the diagnosis and treatment process and its complications. The definitive diagnosis of the disease was established by incisional biopsy in the cervical region, revealing the neoplastic histopathological pattern of nodular sclerosis. Treatment included radiotherapy, chemotherapy and, later, bone marrow transplant due to tumor recurrence. Systemic and oral complications, such as Graft Versus Host Disease, xerostomia and radiation related caries, arose during the patient's treatment. This study demonstrates the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in the management of Hodgkin's Lymphoma, highlighting the need for specific dental care to control oral complications. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of early diagnosis of this neoplasm, appropriate treatment and rigorous monitoring to improve the quality of life of patients.
