LEARNING NOTIONS OF STATISTICS IN THE SCHOOL CONTEXT: A LEARNING PROPOSAL THROUGH A SCHOOL PROJECT IN THE 9 YEARS OF ELEMENTARY EDUCATION

This article shows a reflection on how to work with projects and provides an account of the experience lived through a school project applied in a practical way with the purpose of transposing the theory of classroom contents to application in the learning of the school reality. This project deals with a practical activity with two classes of the 9th grade of elementary school in a municipal public school in the city of Maceió-AL, Brazil, involving basic notions of statistics in the discipline of mathematics. Therefore, the objective of this work is to present the development, with its results, of the implementation of this project in the school. The methodological focus applied in this experience report was of a descriptive nature, through field research using the research instrument closed questionnaire and characterized by observation and participation of students. The results showed that our object of report by “treating theory in learning practice” created a more motivating environment for the students involved, increased self-esteem and empathy with the discipline, allowed verification of the application between theory and practice and improved their performances. students with the creation of a collaborative environment for construction, observation and knowledge of specific notions dealt with in specific classroom contents on statistics. In addition, the students showed great resilience and dedication in overcoming all the challenges encountered, making them protagonists of their knowledge.
