THE ELECTRONIC DENTAL RECORD AS A PREVENTIVE HEALTH MANAGEMENT TOOL OF THE MILITARY POLICE OF PARANÁ

The dental record is a set of documents intended to record all procedures carried out by the Dental Surgeon during the treatment of his patient. The medical record is very important, as it helps as evidence in civil, criminal, ethical, administrative proceedings and post-mortem identification of the patient. The documentation must be completed and stored correctly and archived for at least 10 years. The Paraná Military Police Dental Center is responsible for the oral health of military police officers (active and reserve), dependents and pensioners, but since its formation until the present day it still maintains their medical records in physical form. For many years, dental records have always been made physically and printed on paper, however, with the advancement of information technology in the medical-dental area this does not justify this modality, with a tendency to migrate from paper records to digital format. The adoption of an electronic medical record consists of a management tool for the corporation's oral health, in decentralized units. Their records will have great applicability in the Preventive Health Program to certify the aptitude of military personnel in courses, promotions of other career progressions, as well as facilitating the management of dental care in the Military Police of Paraná, with the optimization of the application of public resources.
