OCCUPATIONAL ACCIDENTS DUE TO MENTAL DISORDERS IN BRAZIL
Abstract
The relationship between mental disorders and work expresses an exposure to "invisible" psychosocial risks with great prevalence in the last two decades in Brazil and worldwide. Not by chance, in Brazil, mental disorders came to occupy the third place in the amount of sickness aid concessions. The objective of this study was to analyze the risk of occurrence of occupational mental disorders in Brazilian regions. Distributing these cases by Brazilian geopolitical regions, it was shown that the regions with the highest GDP had a higher incidence rate. Severe Stress Reactions and Adaptation Disorders were more incident, with almost half of the notifications in the period. The analysis of the records of injuries caused by mental disorders is an important tool for the diagnosis of the workers' health situation and action in the prevention/treatment of these psychic disorders.
