CASE REPORT: ENUCLEATION IN CANINE DUE TO TRANSMISSIBLE VENEREAL TUMOR
Abstract
The Transmissible Venereal Tumor (TVT), also referred to as Sticker's Lymphosarcoma, is a histiocytic neoplasm, of mesenchymal origin, contagious, and in general affects the mucosa of the external genitalia of dogs, in both sexes, and its presentation in other tissues is not common. It is a pathology commonly seen in the veterinary clinical area, this due to its easy transmission, affecting in greater numbers, dogs without defined breed, not neutered and with access to the street. The presentation of this tumor in extragenital sites may be due to the interaction of carrier animals with susceptible animals. Its ocular form can occur via implantation in the conjunctival mucosa or through metastasis.
