EXPLORING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ENVIRONMENTAL CONSCIOUSNESS AND PERSONALITY: EVIDENCE FROM THE USE OF THE NEP SCALE AND THE QUATI TEST
Abstract
The main objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between environmental awareness and personality in university students in the region of Sinop, Mato Grosso, Brazil. Environmental awareness is a crucial dimension in the current context, given the growing interest in environmental preservation and sustainable development. The research seeks to understand how students perceive their responsibility in relation to the preservation of the environment and how this perception is related to their personality characteristics. To achieve this objective, the New Environmental Paradigm Scale (NEP) was used to assess the environmental awareness of two participants. Also, the study employed the QUATI Test, which addresses personality typology, allowing the psychological characteristics of two individuals to be analyzed. The results will reveal valuable information about the environmental awareness of the display, identifying the personality traits that correlate with anthropocentric and ecocentric tendencies. The results of this study offer important insights into how environmental perception varies among university students, considering different variables, such as area of study, age and gender. This analysis contributes to the understanding of attitudes and behaviors in relation to environmental issues, as well as to the identification of possible areas of educational intervention and environmental awareness.
