Abstract

The Emergency Service and Dispatch System (SADE) was implemented by the Military Police of Paraná in 2022 with the objective of modernizing emergency response services provided to the population. Due to the complexity of the new platform, it was necessary to establish a dedicated human technical support team to assist police officers in using the system. As the use of SADE expanded throughout the corporation, internal support demands increased significantly, overloading the team responsible for assistance. In 2024, aiming to optimize this process, an artificial intelligence-based chatbot was developed and implemented to provide automated support to the institution’s internal users. This article presents a comparative analysis of the support structure before and after the chatbot’s implementation, based on operational data, including the average service time. The methodology combines qualitative and quantitative approaches to assess the functional impact of the tool. The analyzed data indicate that, following the chatbot’s deployment, routine support requests were automated, average service time decreased, and the human support team’s workload was reduced. The study also observes a reduction in the mental load of police officers who previously depended exclusively on human support provided through written messages. The findings contribute to the discussion on the use of artificial intelligence within complex organizational structures such as public security institutions, offering insights into human resource management and technological innovation in institutional environments.
