USING THE ACTION RESEARCH METHOD TO DEVELOP A PET SHOP MANAGEMENT PLATFORM WITH UI/UX SOLUTIONS

Abstract

Pet shops are widely disseminated; however, society is increasingly immersed in Information Technology (IT), which can be used to manage this sector. In this sense, the “Poritos” environment is proposed to simplify the management of services, products, and animal care. This paper presents the prototype of the environment on the Web and mobile platforms. The methodology used was the action research method, which involved a planning stage, including an analysis of the needs of pet stores; implementation, creation of the environment prototype; and evaluation of the prototype. The platform includes elements, such as service scheduling, product catalog, order tracking, appointment and vaccination reminders, animal profiles, notifications, and online payments. The evaluation points to functional efficiency and customer satisfaction, allowing progress in the optimization of pet store management and contributing to the modernization of the sector.
