DOCTRINAL REVIEW OF HIGH-RISK PATROL PROCEDURES FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF DRONE USE IN MOTORIZED TACTICAL PATROLLING
Abstract
This article analyzes the possibility of a doctrinal revision of the doctrinal structure of high-risk patrol conduct, an activity institutionalized and developed by the Special Nature Ostensive Patrols Battalion (BPRONE) within the Military Police of the State of Paraná. The research, based on a qualitative and exploratory-descriptive approach, was developed through bibliographic and documentary review combined with institutional analysis of operational practices observed within the specialized unit. The study is grounded on the identification of the absence of specific doctrinal provisions regarding the organic integration of drone operators into patrol units, discussing the possibility of technically incorporating these professionals into the operational context of such activities. The analysis of the literature and institutional practices demonstrated the potential of remotely piloted aircraft systems, especially regarding increased situational awareness, expansion of prior reconnaissance capabilities in critical environments, reduction of direct operator exposure, and optimization of tactical coordination during high-risk incidents. The results indicate that the structured integration of drone operators into patrol units may contribute to greater operational efficiency, safety, and management capacity in police actions, provided that it is accompanied by technical standardization, logistical adaptation, specific training, and doctrinal development compatible with the institutional reality.
