ANALYSIS ON THE APPLICATION OF LEAN CONSTRUCTION IN CIVIL CONSTRUCTION
Abstract
The construction industry faces historical challenges related to low productivity, high waste rates and inefficiencies in production processes. Lean Construction emerges as an approach based on lean production principles, aiming to eliminate waste, increase productivity and promote continuous improvement in construction projects. This study aimed to analyze the application of Lean Construction in a construction company in the city of Araraquara-SP. A bibliographic, qualitative and exploratory research was carried out to analyze Lean Construction in a construction company using tools such as the Last Planner System, Just in Time, 5S and collaborative planning. The results of the research demonstrated benefits such as cost and deadline reduction, sustainability improvements, increased productivity, better site organization and greater worker satisfaction. Despite the positive advances, there are some limitations, such as resistance to change and lack of technical qualification. It is concluded that Lean Construction is a viable and promising strategy for modernizing the civil construction sector, although it requires continuous efforts for its consolidation.
