TERRITORIALIZATION AS A STRUCTURING AXIS OF COLLECTIVE HEALTH PRACTICES IN PRIMARY HEALTH CARE

Abstract

Territorialization is a central element in the organization of Collective Health practices within Primary Health Care, guiding planning, management, and care delivery based on the concrete living conditions of the population. Territory, understood as a socially constructed space, allows the identification of vulnerabilities, potentials, and inequalities that directly influence health and disease processes. This study aimed to analyze territorialization as a structuring axis of Collective Health practices in Primary Health Care, considering its organizational, care-related, educational, and political implications. This qualitative bibliographic study was developed through an interpretative analysis of national and international scientific publications. Searches were conducted in recognized databases using descriptors in Portuguese and English, combined through Boolean operators to ensure alignment with the proposed objective. The findings indicate that territorialization strengthens care coordination, enhances the bond between health teams and communities, supports integrated multiprofessional work, and guides equity-oriented actions. - Furthermore, its strategic role in health education and in addressing socio-spatial inequalities is highlighted. It is concluded that territorialization represents an essential foundation for consolidating Primary Health Care and strengthening Collective Health practices, contributing to the organization of more integrated, effective, and socially responsive health services.
