CONSTRUCTION AND VALIDATION OF A BOOKLET FOR THE PREVENTION OF GESTATIONAL SYPHILIS
Abstract
Objective: To create and validate a booklet on gestational syphilis. Methods: Methodological, qualitative and quantitative, applied, exploratory and experimental research, based on a bibliographic survey and developed with the support of a graphic designer on the Canva platform. Validation occurred in two stages: with expert judges (selected by criteria adapted from Fehring) and with the target audience (selected by convenience). The Instrument for Validation of Educational Content in Health (IVCES) and Suitability Assessment of Materials (SAM) instruments were used for evaluation. Data collection occurred virtually with the judges and in person with the target audience, between September 2024 and May 2025. Data were analyzed using the Content Validity Index (IVC) and the SAM percentage score, with the help of Excel 2021. Results: Thirteen publications were consulted, including 4 from the Ministry of Health. The content was organized into 8 sections, with simple language and visual resources aligned with aesthetics and clarity. Nine professors from the areas of Medicine and Nursing participated in the validation, with an IVC of 100% in all items. With the target audience, 30 individuals participated and the scores ranged from 70% to 100%. Conclusion: The booklet was validated as an effective, accessible, clear and appropiate educational technology for the target audience.
