USE OF IRAMUTEQ IN QUALITATIVE RESEARCH WITHIN THE BRAZILIAN UNIFIED HEALTH SYSTEM: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW
Abstract
Objective: To analyze the use of lexicometric techniques in qualitative research employing the Iramuteq software, considering the production of knowledge, attitudes, and practices within the scope of the Unified Health System. Method: This is an integrative review including articles retrieved from the Scielo, Lilacs, and Medline databases, covering the period from 2016 to 2025. Thirteen studies were included that involved users, professionals, and managers in various health contexts and presented the use of at least one lexicographic technique available in the software. Results: Iramuteq contributes to organizing and systematizing discourses, identifying lexical structures, accessing latent content and semantic connections, thereby expanding the possibilities for interpreting qualitative data. Studies combining multiple techniques showed greater potential for discussing results than those using only one. The main fields of application were nursing, public health, and primary care, with investigations addressing HIV, COVID-19, and maternal and child health. The use of the software proved relevant for understanding complex phenomena, guiding health actions, and supporting changes in care practices. Conclusion: Iramuteq is a promising tool for qualitative research in health, contributing to methodological strengthening and innovation in textual analyses.
