PSYCHOSOCIAL RISKS, PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, AND ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE: INTERFACES WITH NR-1
Abstract
This article provides an in-depth analysis of the relationship between psychosocial risks, physical activity, and organizational performance, with reference to NR-1 and the Risk Management Program (PGR). The discussion highlights the historical evolution of occupational health, which shifted from a biomedical perspective focused on the absence of disease to a biopsychosocial approach that integrates physical, mental, and social dimensions. Within this framework, physical activity is presented as both a preventive and strategic measure, with positive impacts on reducing absenteeism and presenteeism, mitigating occupational stress, and promoting mental health. The text also examines the challenges posed by digitalization and remote work, which simultaneously expand opportunities for autonomy and increase risks of isolation and work intensification. Case studies of companies that implemented integrated wellness and performance programs are analyzed, demonstrating tangible benefits as well as practical limitations. Finally, a systemic model is proposed, articulating normative, organizational, and operational axes, reinforcing that physical activity, when incorporated into corporate practices, is not only a social responsibility initiative but also a sustainable competitiveness strategy.
