SOCCER IN THE VILLAGE: THE FIGHT CLASSIFICATION IN THE WAPIXANA'S SOCCER FIELD

Abstract

One of the places where the indigeneaous Wapixana expose the strategy present in their social network is in the soccer field. There, the processes of ressignificação are dynamic and there is a deep perceptibility of the clash between the traditional way of life and the rules of modern sport like football. Some of the rules are more noticeable demonstrating the presence of a leadership existent in the current social relations. In this case study we intend to emphasize the demonstration of the power symbolic power through an ethnographic view of the soccer game in the village, targeting the understanding of the social of powers interactions within the Wapixana community from Alto Arraia.
