EXPOSURE TO NEGATIVE INFORMATION: News about Covid-19 on two weekly broadcast TV news programs in Brazil

With technological development in the last century, information reaches people, in their homes, with great speed and ease. Especially in the last two decades, with the advent of the Internet, this is even more evident. Some of the media with the greatest power of communication today remain television, especially television news. The spread of negative news, disasters, violence and death is a constant in these media. Studies indicate that constant exposure to negative news can lead the individual to the development of emotional, cognitive and psychiatric disorders. Thus, the present study aims to analyze the amount of time that two of the main weekly news shows in Brazil spent, exposing news about Coronavirus and finding out what is the main bias of the collected news, whether negative or positive
