COLOR IN THE EDUCATIONAL CONTEXT: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF ACADEMIC PRODUCTION IN RIUT/UTFPR
Abstract
Color, as a physical, perceptual, and sociocultural phenomenon, presents multiple possibilities of approach in the educational context, especially in science and mathematics education. In this sense, this study aimed to identify the main research trends related to the theme of color in the academic production available in the Institutional Repository of the Federal University of Technology – Paraná (RIUT). The research is characterized as a systematic literature review conducted through searches in the repository using the descriptor “colors”. As inclusion criteria, complete studies addressing color in connection with educational processes were selected. After the selection and exclusion criteria, the final corpus consisted of four studies. Data were analyzed based on Bardin’s Content Analysis (2011), allowing the organization of the studies into thematic categories related to conceptual aspects of color, sociocultural perspectives, and didactic tools for teaching light and colors. The results revealed a predominance of studies focused on Physics teaching, especially related to optics, visual perception, and teaching methodologies. Interdisciplinary discussions involving art, photography, and science were also identified. It is concluded that the theme of color has significant potential for interdisciplinary educational practices, although it still presents a low incidence of research in the investigated institutional context.
