Abstract

The purpose of this article entitled THE INFLUENCE OF THE QUILOMBOLA ASSOCIATION FOR THE RESCUE AND MAINTENANCE OF QUILOMBOLA CULTURE: A case study of the Quilombola Community of São Sebastião, Municipality of Oeiras do Pará - PA. Looking to analyze the influence of the Quilombola Association for the rescue and maintenance of the Quilombola culture in that community, through reasoned and organized reflections. In order to do so, some questions are presented, such as: what are the quilombola cultures that still survive in the community? How to carry out the process of retransmission of quilombola knowledge between generations? And what has the community and/or social organizations done to preserve the quilombola culture? Field research of an investigative nature, through pre-prepared questionnaires seeking to know in the orality of the residents how this retransmission happens. Soon, representatives of the association and/or community, residents, parents of families and young people from the community of São Sebastião participated, which were interpreted when analyzing the data. Following the line of reinforcing the great need and importance of organizing community residents in association, to guarantee the rights and rescue of Afro-descendant values, customs and legacies, who declare themselves quilombolas, thus providing a better relay of knowledge and knowledge. people, from the oldest to the youngest, and thus keep the culture of the quilombola people alive, all this Afro-descendant knowledge experienced and passed on by generations in the quilombola communities.
