BRAZILIAN PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY: ANALYSIS FOR ITS PROCESS OF SUSTAINED DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

The present study analyzes the Brazilian pharmaceutical industry, contextualized with the pandemic phenomenon and inserted in the Global Value Chain (CGV). Through bibliographic, documentary and field research, applied here in qualitative in-depth interviews, whose sample consisted of professionals and professional experience, we sought to collect data and information that would enable a diagnosis of the situation of this economic segment, of its problems, impressions and, of course, recommendations, contextualized in the pandemic period caused by COVID-19 and social distance. In this sense, the national pharmaceutical industry is constituted by national and foreign pharmaceutical companies with considerable level of quality, where the problem lies in the centralization in the Health area, especially in the federal sphere, in the conduct of public policies, planning and management that restrict the possibility of public and private investments, and that meet the needs of the Society, as well as emergency issues.
