Abstract

Like any other science, Sociology is not a result of chance, but answers to the needs of men in their time. The philosophical reflection concerning society is different both in results and, mainly, in the way to reach them.  The religious world is the real world reflection; but religion will not disappear as a result of an anti-religious fight, but as an effect of social transformation. In short, Sociology of Religion tries to explain empirically the mutual relations between religion and society, once studies made are based on the social dimension of the society, and no on confessional dimension.
