KÖPPEN CLIMATE CLASSIFICATION IN THE AREA OF THE PERNAMBUCO FOREST - BRAZIL

Köppen's climate classification method is little application in agricultural study areas, due to the huge extents of the planting scales in which they are used. The objective is to perform the climatic classification using the köppen application model for the Area of the Pernambuco Forest Zone with the elaboration of graphs and tables. We used the average air temperature values of the last 67 years estimated by the Estima_T software for the 44 municipalities that make up the Zona da Mata Pernambucana. The resulting climatic classifications demonstrated sensitivity to local orography, rainfall indices and fluctuations in average temperatures. The Köppen classification model identified two climatic characteristics: climate type Am in 12 municipalities and climatic type As predominantly in 32 municipalities. Altitude is a component of climate control, because due to the effect of gravity, the density of the atmosphere decreases with height.
