Abstract

ABSTRACT

The Maranhão Female Literature in front of the Academia Maranhense de Letras(AML) is a work that seeks in a succinct way to demonstrate the importance of historical roots for an understanding of what São Luís is today, from a reflection of the female literature of Maranhão. In this context, the work presents a brief history of women's literature followed by the life and work of the writers from Maranhão, represented by three authors (Maria Firmina dos Reis, Arlete Nogueira da Cruz Machado and Laura Amélia dos Santos Damous). Therefore, the work seeks to present a relationship between women's literature and the admission of women to Academia Maranhense de Letras from its foundation to the present day.
