Abstract

Judo is one of the sports that enables expression, developing skills, and promoting physical and psychological health. The main objective of this work is the identification of psychological factors that may influence judo athletes in a competition and the specific objectives seek to identify how these emotions can influence the athlete's performance, understanding how the pre and post competition process affects the athlete and how the psychologist can intervene in this process. An interview was conducted with a psychology professional. From this data collection it was possible to identify the need to understand the difference between clinical and sports psychology, to maximize results and minimize athlete's suffering, and highlighting as results the relevance of psychological preparation, the interference of emotions in competitive situations of performance sport, it is necessary to understand the theme in question to enable an improvement of performance in this sport modality and the well-being of those involved.
