Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the scientific evidence currently available on prescribing the number of systemic antibiotics in pediatric patients with chronic dentoveolar abscesses (EAC) in temporal dentition. For this review, studies were sought in databases such as: PubMed/MEDLINE, Science Direct, Scielo, ResesarchGate, GoogleScholar, LILACS, SCOPUS, Web of Science, on administration the number of antibiotics in ADC in temporal teeth for treatment. The database includes systematic reviews, narratives, analytical observational study, pilot study, in vitro experimental study, descriptive cross-sectional study, case report, prospective multicenter study, consensus document, in any language. Different approaches will be found in the literature, based on the participation of the metabolomic analysis, indicating the distribution and expression of interleukin 1 in periapical granulomas and root cysts, layers of Malazes epithelium involved in the formation of cysts, as well as the hecho of that temporally the molars were more prone to present this condition in relation to the anterior teeth, being the upper central incisor the most affected. The most used antibiotic was amoxicillin and erythromycin as an allergic alternative. Concluding that the literature on administering the number of antibiotics in the ADC in the temporal dentition is insufficient, it is recommended that the clinical conditions are well diagnosed, having in mind the cost and benefit for the patient.
