Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to investigate, through scientific literature, how the strategies used in Behavioral Nutrition can contribute to the management of nervous anorexia and bulimia. Methodology: The work carried out is an integrative review of the literature. A bibliographic search was carried out in the Pubmed and Scielo databases and, from these, the results were selected qualitatively according to the theme of the work. Results: Behavioral therapy stood out as the most commonly used approach. Regarding the methods used to evaluate the effectiveness of the strategies in each sample, there was variation, including interviews, questionnaires, linear mixed effects models, the use of treatment based on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and monitoring of eating disorders. Conclusion: It was found that Behavioral Nutrition has an important role in the treatment of eating disorders, as the patient reframes their relationship with food and their perception of body image.
