ATIVIDADES FARMACOLÓGICAS DE BERGININA E DERIVADOS: UMA REVISÃO SISTEMÁTICA

Resumo

A bergenina é um C-glicosídeo do ácido 4-O-metil-gálico, caracteriza-se como um polifenol cristalino e incolor. Há relatos de ter sido isolada de plantas medicinais como Flueggea leucopyrus, Bergenia crassifolia, Mallotus philippensis, Corylopsis spicata, Caesalpinia digyna, Mallotus japonicus e Sacoglottis gabonensis. Na região amazônica especificamente a bergenina é listada como um dos principais compostos bioativos presentes na espécie Endopleura uchi, popularmente conhecida como uchi amarelo. É uma substância que possui múltiplas propriedades farmacológicas como anti-inflamatória, antitumoral, citoprotetora, antiarrítmica, antimicrobiana, antidiabética dentre outras. Por meio de um levantamento bibliográfico nas bases de dados PubMed e Science Direct, entre 2016 e 2022, utilizando os descritores “bergenin”, “pharmacological activity”, “synthesis” e “antioxidant”, após a aplicação dos critérios de inclusão e exclusão, foram avaliados um total de 35 artigos sobre a bergenina e derivados. Os resultados evidenciaram que as propriedades farmacológicas mais recorrentes atribuídas à bergenina, foram aquelas relacionadas as atividades anti-inflamatórias (8 publicações), seguida de antitumoral (5 publicações), citoproteção (5 publicações), ação sobre o metabolismo ósseo (3 publicações), imunomoduladora (3 publicações), antiparasitária (2 publicações) e atividade antioxidante (2 publicações). Dos 35 artigos estudados, seis eram produções relacionadas a derivados da bergenina, os quais estudaram propriedades anti-inflamatória e antitumoral. Esta revisão apresenta uma pesquisa bibliográfica abrangente de diferentes estudos e fornece informações sobre a potencialidade da bergenina e seus derivados para uso e desenvolvimento de novos fármacos.
