Abstract

Research indicates that Brazil is the most anxious country in the world. Being anxiety a biological factor of the human being, when in excess, it causes distorted fears and concerns in people, which can harm the quality of life of the subject, which was healthy and necessary, becomes pathological and harmful, requiring psychological and psychiatric services for its control. The subject in anxiety attacks, at its highest level, can develop attacks and panic disorders. Among the various existing anxiety disorders, the aim of the present study is to apply a questionnaire to assess the fear and concern of young learners when faced with the situation of public speaking. The research will consist, in the application of the Social Anxiety Questionnaire for Adults (CASO), by electronic means, validated in a research by Caballo et al. (2017). It is intended to raise characteristics of social anxiety in young apprentices of a Company in the interior of the state of Minas Gerais, bringing reflections on the concepts of social anxiety and on the importance of preparing for these young people. In addition to presenting ways to deal with social anxiety within the approach of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
