HEART TRANSPLANTATION: INCLUSION AND EXCLUSION CRITERIA
Abstract
Heart failure leads to deficient tissue oxygenation, which, on the other hand, increases myocardial effort in an attempt to compensate for blood supply dysfunction, a fact that contributes to an increase in unfavorable outcomes for patients with heart disease. Patients classified with greater severity according to the New York Heart Association (NYHA) may be candidates for the gold standard of treatment: heart transplantation. In order to be elected, it is necessary that they meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria, in order to avoid complications after heart transplantation. The objective of this work is to review the literature of recent studies related to the topic on these factors that make heart disease patients eligible or not for heart transplantation.
