HOSPITAL ADMISSIONS RESULTING FROM MENTAL AND BEHAVIORAL DISORDERS IN THE PERIOD FROM 2015 TO 2020 IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF PORTO VELHO, CONSIDERING IN 2020 THE SCENARIO OF PANDEMIC

Abstract

This study aims to analyze epidemiological data based on the number of hospitalizations resulting from mental and behavioral disorders in the period from 2015 to 2020 in the city of Porto Velho. It is known that the study of mental health is something that has been developing in a short period of time, still being a much neglected area, but very necessary to maintain a comprehensive health of society. Seeing this, together with the pandemic scenario that began in 2020, the attention to this health area becomes fundamental in the city of Porto Velho, either because of the consequences brought by the pandemic, grief, financial concerns, and social isolation; or because of the integral attention to the new coronavirus, giving less opening to diseases considered non-emergent when compared to this fatal virus. Thus, the data of hospital admissions will be analyzed, since this is an advanced level of the pathology, in which the patient is no longer indicated for a follow-up at home. The methodology used in this research was population descriptive observational, through the collection of data from the Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System of Brazil (DATASUS), using specific filter for cases of hospital admissions in Porto Velho, resulting from the chapter ICD 10 V - Mental and behavioral disorders in the period from 2015 to 2020, in view of the influence of the pandemic of COVID-19 in the year 2020. Data processing and analysis were done using the software TabWin (DATASUS) and Excel (Microsoft).
