Objective: to map the evidence available in the literature about the main complications related to the Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) in the field of neonatology and pediatrics, as well as to identify preventive strategies. Method: Scope review protocol, conducted using the Joanna Briggs Institute manual and PRISMA-ScR checklist, with selection of MEDLINE, Virtual Health Library, EMBASE, COCRANE, CINAHL, SCOPUS, Web of Science and Google Scholar databases. Studies that answer the following guiding question will be considered: What are the complications related to the use of PICC in neonatology and pediatrics, and what are the strategies to prevent this event?. Selection will take place independently, by two reviewers, using Rayyan Software. Data extraction will be done using a form developed by the authors, followed by processing in the IRaMuTeQ software. The results will be presented through a synthetic table, narrative discussion and flowchart. Expected results: At the end, it is expected to map the evidence about the complications related to the use of PICC in the field of neonatology and pediatrics, with a view to providing subsidies for the provision of safe and quality care.
