Abstract

Thermal comfort studies are subjective or modeling observational are still scarce in the Amazon region. Therefore, this work aims to perform a subjective analysis of the thermal sensation of the visitors of Parque Municipal de Santarém, as well as to verify the accuracy of the model of the predicted average vote in the dry and rainy season. We applied 75 semi-structured questionnaires per station, which evaluated the parameters that constitute the human thermal comfort according to international norms, the questionnaires were applied in the Municipal Park of the city of Santarém, west of Pará. The Mann-Whitney test was used to compare the thermal perception of the park visitors in order to verify if the sensation had similarity between the periods and the model of the predicted mean vote (in English, PMV) was used to model the perception of the inhabitants to verify the accuracy of this model. From the results it was possible to observe that the sensation of discomfort is the most prevalent in both seasons and the Mann-Whitney test indicates that in general the feeling of comfort is the same during the two periods. The PMV shows unsatisfactory performance for both stations as well as for the total period evaluated. It is hoped that these results can collaborate in the understanding of the thermal comfort of the municipality as well as collaborate with an understanding of thermal comfort in the Amazon region.
