THE IMPACT OF THE USE OF SOCIAL NETWORKS ON THE LEVEL OF ANXIETY

This study aimed to analyze, through an anxiety test provided by the book The Mind Winning Humor, the influence of social networks (TikTok, Twitter and Instagram) on the level of anxiety. The experiment was carried out with two subjects, one male and the other female, aged 21 and 19 years, respectively. The experiment was carried out for 26 consecutive days, being divided into two parts, the first part being based on the absence of the social networks addressed, and the second part based on its use. The t-test indicated a P=0.00, proving that social networks possibly directly affect the anxiety of individuals, although the effects of the research were inverse in each of the subjects: while one was more anxious with the use of networks, the other was more anxious without their use. Thus, the result of the experiment becomes curious, opening opportunities for further research in order to understand this disparity.
