Abstract

This article, more pedagogical than scientific, aims to provide Philosophy students with a panoramic and concise presentation of the main divisions of Philosophy. Without going into the matter in detail, rather aiming precisely at simplicity, the text—in the manner of a short essay of a more descriptive than opinionated nature—was planned with the purpose of offering the student a useful summary that makes it possible to introduce or complement his studies and instigate him to expand even more the horizons of the theme. Along the path covered here, it was verified that Philosophy is an extremely vast area, which encompasses, in its genesis, all branches of knowledge, so that defining and segmenting it are not a task of little difficulty. However, it was found that its division into Metaphysics, Epistemology, Axiology and Logic is sufficient to provide a conceptual framework in which the concepts dealt with by Philosophy can be housed and fitted.
