Science fiction (FC) is a genre widely used in cinema and in great literary works created in the late 19th century. However, much is still discussed about what defines a work to be considered science fiction. To this end, a research that has a qualitative approach, which focuses on understanding and explaining the dynamics of social relations with science content through science fiction, will be carried out. The main objective is to collect and present previous information or knowledge about the problem in this regard. The methodology of the work will be carried out through surveys of bibliographical references based on theoretical contributions from books and scientific articles already published. Based on any discussion developed from the collected results, it is possible to see the wide range of concepts of what would be science fiction. However, although there is no consensus on a closed definition of what science fiction is, it is possible to note that in all the historical concepts linked to it, there is a similarity in the concept of "strangeness", sometimes called novum, now called counterfactual derivation.Downloads
