THE MOBILE EMERGENCY CARE SERVICE IN THE CONTEXT OF ATTENTION TO CHILDREN’S DIABETES

Objective: to characterize the services provided by the Mobile Emergency Care Service related to blood glucose changes in children and adolescents. Methods: Descriptive-exploratory study. The population of this research covers the records of visits made by the service in the northwest of Paraná, involving emergencies related to the presence of changes in capillary blood glucose, and interviews with six adolescents. Results: The population served, were girls from elementary to high school, and who despite the glycemic oscillations, did not have a confirmed diagnosis of diabetes, but most of them have a family history of diabetes. Conclusion: through knowledge of the profile of children and adolescents with glycemic alterations, it is possible to prepare approach strategies aimed at health education, as well as improving the assistance provided.
