Abstract

Pilomatrixomas are benign tumors of the skin appendages derived from the basal cells of the epidermis. It is usually found in young patients, with no gender preference. It is an extremely rare skin tumor. It can affect any part of the body, especially the face and eyelids. They present as a small, solitary and fast-growing nodule, adhered to the skin, but mobile in relation to the deep tissues. There may be malignant degeneration is called pilomatrixial carcinoma. The confirmatory diagnosis is histopathological among the various differential skin pathologies. Surgical treatment is the choice and the recurrence rate is low.
