Abstract

The relationship between man and the environment has drawn the attention of governments, institutions and individuals. Tourism is an activity that consumes the space, through the services presented such as religious festivals, rural/urban tourism, Santo Antônio, São João and São Pedro and local celebrations such as Pilgrimage, Caminho dos Frios and regional festivals among other modalities. The objective is to provide weather information and its contribution to the Brega Areia festival and to the tourist and logistic sectors of the municipality of Areia, aiming at greater comfort to local tourism and tourism during the events. Among the benefits for the community, tourism activities provide improvement in the standard of living of the community; the creation of new jobs and businesses; possibility of additional income; diversification and foreign exchange generation for the local economy; improving the basic infrastructure of the community; promoting greater integration between segments of society; promoting greater awareness and protection of the environment and culture and introducing new knowledge to the local population; development of Environmental Education activities with involvement of resident communities. In addition, the party brings benefits and income generation; leisure; craft exhibition. The meteorological elements and their monthly and annual variability of the studied area contribute to the reliability of information, the development and growth of the tourism sector as well as the local economic sector, assisting in planning the activities of the itineraries and new ways of exploring the cultural, tourist and leisure potential.
