Abstract

The civil industry sector is responsible for the consumption and generation of huge volumes of raw material and as waste reuse practices adopted by the sector, there are different forms of recycling that allow the use of various materials, including tires. Tires as an example, Brazil alone produces more than 70 million tires per year, most of which are improperly discarded into the environment. Several studies point out benefits regarding the use of waste tires in civil construction in their various structures providing technical, economic and environmental benefits. Based on this assumption, this article aims to evaluate the benefits of using concrete rubber in civil construction. It intends, therefore, to verify researches developed on the use of recycled rubber as an aggregate in concrete, to evaluate its possibilities of use. To carry out this article, the bibliographic research methodology was chosen, through books, manuals, documents, magazines, articles published or about to be published in the technical-scientific environment. It is concluded, according to the study presented, the possibility of using waste tire waste as an aggregate in the production of concrete, which, according to several studies mentioned here, can be used for different purposes, providing various environmental and technical advantages
