SOCIAL SUPPORT IN THE CONTEXT OF GENERALIZED EXTREME POVERTY: A LOOK AT THE 2020 ANGOLA MULTIDIMENSIONAL POVERTY INDEX REPORT

Abstract

Poverty is the worst evil that affects a country, due to the direct result of the current economic situation or accumulated throughout the history of unemployment stagnation, the lack of investment in the economy and above all the authorities' lack of control in making a country grow harmoniously. and balanced; Thus, poverty is the deprivation of basic capacity and basic opportunities to operate freely in the social environment, that is, poor people are those who lack opportunities to achieve acceptable minimum achievements, living with an income below 1 usd per day, the equivalent at about 500 kz. Through the use of bibliographic and normative resources, the article on the topic “Social Support in the Context of Widespread Extreme Poverty: A Look at the 2020 Angola Multidimensional Poverty Index Report”, aims to address aspects of multidimensional poverty that are relevant in Angola and around the world; social support and challenges faced by Civil Society Organizations (OCS) and/or NGOs for social development; This article aims to instruct volunteers and social activists to contribute to the discussion on poverty, in order to have an improved approach to this multidimensional phenomenon to achieve a more just, developed and poverty-free society; to raise the awareness of volunteers and social activists about social and solidarity support within communities; and to analyze and debate the role and challenges of the state and CSOs for development.
