Abstract

Introduction: Infantile Cerebral Palsy (CP) is one of the most prevalent and challenging neurological conditions affecting childhood. Objective: This review aims to analyze the challenges and advances in the treatment of CP. Methodology: This is a bibliographic review, using articles present in the following databases: PubMed, Scopus and SciELO Original articles and systematic reviews in English and Portuguese published between 2019 and 2024, which addressed the challenges and advances in the treatment of Cerebral Palsy. After analysis, 14 articles were selected to prepare this bibliographic review. Results and Discussion: the importance of integrated and personalized approaches that incorporate the clinical nuances of CP was observed. The need for individualization in the treatment of CP is also highlighted, considering the clinical diversity of patients. The growing understanding of neuroplasticity suggests that strategies focused on brain adaptation may be fundamental, and the integration of assistive technologies must be carried out with balance, considering ethical and practical aspects. Conclusion: The continued search for effective therapeutic strategies, based on solid evidence, is crucial to move towards a more efficient and compassionate approach to managing this complex neurological condition.
