In the world context, Brazil, as well as several countries, face a new and complex reality caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, a disease caused by the new Coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, whose clinical picture can range from asymptomatic complications and mild symptoms to severe respiratory crises. Therefore, Law No. 13979/2020 was created, which provides for social isolation and quarantine with the need to reduce the need for highly complex hospitalizations in a short period of time. In view of the above, it was necessary to implement Ordinance No. 343/2020, which authorizes face-to-face activities to use specific means and technologies, thus replacing face-to-face classes with remote classes, in order to avoid a collapse in the educational sphere. In this context, this reflection article aims to discuss and assess the challenges faced by teachers and students regarding the implementation of emergency remote education and its consequences for the future. Thus, a theoretical-reflective study of literature and critical analysis was created, seeking a greater understanding of the positive and negative points of emergency remote education for our society.
