Abstract

Introduction: Fibroedema geloid (FEG) is a condition of the dermal and subcutaneous tissue that causes lipodystrophy changes in the tissue. Objective: To descriptively evaluate the percentage of the FEG classification, physical activity and quality of life of students and relate the quality of life of students in the Physiotherapy course at UFS Campus Lagarto with the FEG classification and physical activity. Methods: Qualitative study with a descriptive character of percentage, including students from the physiotherapy course at UFS Campus Lagarto aged between 18 and 30 years who had FEG. A part of the FEG Assessment Protocol questionnaire (PAFEG) and the quality-of-life questionnaire in women with cellulite (CELLUQOL) were used. Results: Most of the volunteers were practitioners of physical activity and had a mild degree of FEG, a little more than half of the participants had their quality of life affected in some degree of FEG. According to the Odds rate, there is a 31% chance that the FEG does not affect the quality of life of the participants, and a 2.833% chance that the participants who practice physical activity have their quality of life affected by the FEG. Conclusion: Most students practiced physical activity, had a mild degree and had their quality of life affected to some degree by the FEG. In addition, students with a moderate degree of FEG may be more likely to have a greater compromise in their quality of life, noting that there is no relationship between the practice of physical activity and quality of life.
