Tourism, as an economic activity with great impact, has the potential to significantly contribute to the regeneration of local ecosystems and communities. In this context, the concept of regenerative tourism emerges as an innovative response to the limitations of traditional sustainable tourism, which often focuses only on minimizing negative impacts. This article examines the concept of regenerative tourism as an alternative to sustainable tourism practices, highlighting the need for an approach that goes beyond mere conservation to the active regeneration of ecosystems and local communities. By analyzing successful examples and practices around the world, this study investigates how regenerative tourism seeks to positively impact tourist destinations, promoting the revitalization of natural and cultural environments. The study discusses the application of regenerative tourism in Brazilian tourist destinations and its implications for environmental preservation and social development.
