This paper is a review of the book Managing Accountability Systems for Police Conduct, published in 2009 by Jeffrey J. Noble and Geoffrey P. Alpert. It provides an analysis of the book's content, which addresses police accountability systems by integrating theory and practice. The review also highlights the importance of the publication for researchers, policymakers, and law enforcement institutions, such as the Military Police of the State of Paraná. Furthermore, it examines the approach taken in the book, covering topics ranging from pre-investigation issues to the effectiveness and evaluation of outcomes, with an emphasis on transparency and discipline.
