Abstract

The three pillars of the university, represented by teaching, research and extension, were impacted by the Sars-Cov-2 pandemic. The need for social distancing imposed on the academic community new ways of teaching and learning through remote learning. New adaptations were necessary to make it possible to build knowledge and realization of research and extension projects. In this context, the Hematology Minute Extension Project was created with the objective of to share information in the area with the community and to assist students in their education in health. The objective of this work is to report the experience of the project's extension students and all the activities that were developed during the pandemic. The following activities were realized: elaboration of educational videos, elaboration of carousel posts, discussion of clinical cases in a remote environment and realization of practical activities in the laboratory with small groups. Hematology Minute performs its objectives as an extension project in the sharing of information and student learning. Future actions are planned with the community, promoting blood donations, increasing awareness of common disorders such as anemia, visits to blood centers and reference centers in the treatment of cancer.
