Abstract

ABSTRACT

In 2018 the City Hall of Foz do Iguaçu - PR took over the operation of the Municipal Program of Selective Collection of Recyclable Waste, starting a restructuring in the Program with the help of investments made by partners. Through theoretical bibliographic analyses, document consultation and intensive direct observation, the present article has the specific objective of describing how the process of collection of recyclable materials was in the city before the creation of the Cooperative of Environmental Agents of Foz do Iguaçu.  Analyze what motivations led to the participation of the City Hall in the Program and how this influenced the process of selective collection in the city. To identify if the restructuring of the Program generated impacts on the quality of life and work of the cooperative collectors. The analyses of the article demonstrate the changes that occurred and were perceived in the life and work of the collectors of recycled materials, over time and the transformations in the Program.
