Abstract

The solution of colossal problems, represented by the constant marginalization of civil society, excluded from the benefits of economic growth, demands the contribution of ethical and religious principles, since scientific hegemony has not managed to equate them. The increase in the concentration of wealth for small groups, thereby increasing social inequalities; the exacerbated exogenous dependence, expressed by the expansion of denationalization, economic and increasing technological subordination, require the conclusion of a new social pact, which allows oppressed nations to face challenges. Education must converge to a well-defined end. In the meantime, religious education aims mainly to prepare the human being for his encounter with Transcendence, in addition to guiding him on metaphysical existence. It is urgent that the Church, with regard to education, encourages her evangelizing presence not only through the influx of the family and the schools themselves, raising awareness of the urgency of, alongside the curricular contents, essential to the Age of Knowledge, to encourage the noblest propensities, namely solidarity, the fraternal spirit and liberation.
